David Byrne has been just about everywhere, and done just about everything a musician could do. At the age of 58, he has released about twenty albums between his solo career, his work with Brian Eno, and his most famous records with The Talking Heads.

Last year, Modest Mouse frontman Isaac Brock took some time away from his band to record Portland, OR newcomers, Mimicking Birds. The band's self-titled debut, recorded and produced by Brock, was just released last week on Brock's own Glacial Pace Recordings label. Filled with soft finger-picked acoustic guitar, lead singer Nate Lacy's soothing vocals and solid indie-folk sensibilities, fans of City and Colour or Blind Pilot should inquire within. Download the album's leading single, "Burning Stars," after the break.

You never know what to expect form Devendra Banhart's musical offerings. Ambiguously fraught lyrics, unbelievably cool ever-changing style, and the ability to transpose a brand new world full of bright colors all tend to make appearances - but then again who wants predictability? Different is the new safe bet. And odd is the new cool. Devendra Banhart's latest video for the single, "Baby," is definetly not expected and sure as hell sounds cool.

This St Louis based Producer/DJ has been making quite an imprint in the land of mixtapes. His last release, White Collar Crime, was a hit, clashing artists such as Radiohead and Burial. This release sees the producer being just as ambitious with the likes of Aphex Twin and Fleetwood Mac going head to head on the ironically named, The Realest Shit I've Ever Written.

2010 is set to become a wee bit brighter thanks to news of an EP release from indie poppers Annuals. The North Carolina sextet released their second album, Such Fun, back in 2008 to critical acclaim and have been touring their butts off ever since. However it looks as though they have found time to write a few songs to keep us occupied. Continue after the jump for full details and a download of EP opener, "Loxtep."
