Call him a replacement or simply a new start, either way, A-Trak looks set to start off where DJ AM left off, after his untimely demise due to a drug overdose. Travis Barker and AM were gaining some attention with their growing DJ/live drummer format. However, it seems that Barker is set to get his head down again and carry on with the idea, this time along side the sought after producer/label owner/DJ A-Trak controlling the wax.
The set-up goes like this: A-Trak spills mad beats and, erm, Barker provides mad drumming skills over the top of them. And we all go, "WOW." Simple. The duo also plan to unveil an album (which will presumably be remixes) sometime in the near future.
Barker recently commented on what drives the project forward, something to do with "making mad bank" on the DJ economy. What an artist.
