The legendary Thom Yorke gave us all a bit of a surprise this morning. On the band's blog, Dead Air Space, Radiohead singer, songwriter, guitarist, pianist, and general master of all things aural announced he had made some major plans for the near future. He writes on the blog that "in the past couple of weeks I've been getting a band together for fun to play the eraser stuff live and the new songs etc.. to see if it could work!" With a group of musicians Yorke has rounded up, it's hard to see how this could not work. Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Joey Waronker (R.E.M.), and the incredibly talented percussionist Mauro Refosco will be rounding out the group. Not to be outdone on the organizational side of things, this yet to be named group will include Nigel Godrich. Curious yet? Read on for the best part of the announcement.

At the beginning of August, (Yorke hints at the forth and fifth), the band is going to play it's first show in Los Angeles at The Orpheum Theatre(without a name, mind you). A local band, Luck Dragons, will be joining them for these two dates. I don't even think I need to tell you that these tickets will go fast.
