Set for release on February 18th of next year, Hidden marks the next step for These New Puritans, a band known for challenging, perplexing and mesmerizing in equal measure. The four-piece English band released their debut album, Beat Pyramid, only last year, but have since received praise from critics all over the United Kingdom and the US. Their new album, as Domino Records profoundly states, "takes the band to a whole new, inventive level and leads them further on their precise mission." More info can be found after the jump.

Band members Jack Barnett and Graham Sutton produced the album themselves, and promise Hidden to be "a work extraordinary in its ambition, clarity of purpose, and range – at times brutal, melancholy, expansive, cinematic or orchestral." In an interview with Another Man magazine, Barnett had this to say:

For our new album we recorded a 13-piece woodwind and brass band comprising two clarinets, alto flute, bass clarinet, bassoon, contrabassoon, flugelhorn, two french horns, baritone horn, trombone, bass trombone and tuba. It was a revelatory experience. For one thing, our music process has always been dominated by recording. It's a particular way of working that owes a lot to electronica among other things, where the recording and the song are really the same thing... A lot of the time a particular musical part is interesting not because of musical content but sound content. We piece the recording together painstakingly. But for the album the composition has bcome sacred. Once the music was written and arranged and the parts printed and bound we went Prague for one day and recorded it...
