If you were weirded out by Tegan and Sara's newest single, "Alligator", well, things are about to get even stranger. Apparently, the Canadian twins are quite proud of their new wave-esque single "Alligator," off of 2009's Sainthood; so much so, that they've contracted the likes of Passion Pit, Toro y Moi, and TV on the Radio's Daev Sitek to remix the track... seventeen different times.
No, really, we're serious. There are 17 versions of the same song on the upcoming iTunes-only release, creatively-titled Alligator.
"If you've ever fantasized about having a dance party with 17 versions of the same song...watch out, this is your dream come true,'" the sisters write.
Perhaps the only joy one might glean from such an outlandish and perhaps repetitive release is Sara Quin's original demo cut of the song. Other than that, if you're looking for a headache or really love the word 'alligator,' check out the album track list below.
