The good folks at Daptones Records shared some very special news with the world today. They announced that in conjunction with the talented and soulful funk/rock/soul vocalist of Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, Sharon Jones’ birthday, she and her aresenal of multi-instrumentalist musicians will be releasing their fourth studio album to date. Much like their previous work, the LP was recorded in a small studio in Brooklyn on an Ampex eight-track tape machine. You just gotta love that warm, soulful, lo-fi sound when a musician like Sharon Jones happens to be singing along. Titled I Learned The Hard Way, the album contains twelve jam-packed tracks, filled with enough overtaking bellows and funky rhythms to keep you on your toes the whole way through. Sharon Jones and the rest of the crew prove that after nearly four musical decades, she’s still got it. To catch a glimpse at the album artwork and track list, and some details on the recording process of I Learned The Hard Way, read on below.
