It's a story as old as time: boy forms space-rock band. Boy meets girl. Girl has identical twin. Boy leaves space-rock band, gets apartment with identical twins to form electro-shoegaze band. Such is the tale of School of Seven Bells, brainchild of former Secret Machines guitarist Benjamin Curtis and former On! Air! Library! vocalists Alejandra and Claudia Deheza. The trio have announced the upcoming release of their sophomore LP Disconnect From Desire.

The Brooklyn based band stated in a recent interview that though currently without a release date, the new record is nearly finished. The group plan to debut 'at least six new songs' at an upcoming London gig on December 4th. In the mean time, check out their video for "Half Asleep" below.

I just got back from the London show where they played a few of the new tracks you mentioned.
All of them are fantastic - epic, layered, euphoric and emotional.
Don't worry if you think the second album will be a disappointment after such a startlingly good debut - Disconnect From Desire will be amazing. Place your orders as soon as you can :-)
