JD Salinger, the famous and reclusive author of classics like Catcher in the Rye and Nine Stories has passed away at the age of 91.

Salinger had fame thrust upon him after the release of Catcher and disappeared from the public eye shortly after. His works have touched countless writers and readers alike and had an enormous influence on literature. While there’s no word as to what will become of his unpublished works, Salinger did organize his work with some instructions as to what to do after his death.
