The problem with a lot of music nowadays is that any song that tries to sound sexy always comes off like someone solicited a bunch of monks to write a libidinous song. It's all bass and no feeling. All pumping beats and no rhythm. Too much mechanics and not enough.... passion for the craft, let's say.

The title track on !!!'s (pronounced “chk chk chk”) Jamie, My Intentions Are Bass remix EP is sexier than the hottest person you can imagine putting on their most revealing outfit and strutting down the street at the height of their confidence. It's pure GROOVE, pure feeling and the bottom end bass that flows throughout the riffs seems to surprise you every time it comes around, even though it’s expected. If you listen to this and still don't automatically tap your feet or nod your head you're probably paraplegic.

The rest of the album consists of remixes of their August 2010 release, Strange Weather, Isn’t It?. Before the dust even settled on their two-month-old fourth full-length, such luminaries as Thomas Bullock, Canyons and Bibio, amongst others, join the band to retread Strange’s tracks. Some of the remixes hit: "The Hammer" (Thomas Bullock Remix) is great background/driving music to your life. While others miss--the same song done by Canyons sounds like someone at their first pass on a Casio keyboard with the preset at "boring techno beat 1A". Jamie is probably a great album for big fans of the band, but the title track is great for music fans in general.

Track List:

1. Jamie, My Intentions Are Bass

2. The Hammer (Thomas Bullock Remix)

3. The Most Certain Sure (Liv Spencer Remix)

4. The Hammer (Canyons Remix)

5. Steady As The Sidewalk Cracks (Tim Goldsworthy Remix)

6. The Most Certain Sure (Bibio Remix)
