L.A.’s Z-Trip remixes the Beastie Boys. Really, the Beasties’ ENTIRE catalog!

I love the Beasties, I won’t lie. When I heard of this Z-Trip project, I was extremely skeptical. “No f’in way” was the reoccurring theme streaming through my brain. I was wrong!

Z-Trip gives a nod to the Beasties with his megamix, All-Access. The Beastie Boys' long-awaited new album, Hot Sauce Committee Part 2, was released yesterday, May 3, and Z-Trip scrambled to get this megamix done and out on time. Z-Trip adds: “I was stoked and humbled when asked to do this mix. I've been a fan of The Beasties since I first heard Mr. Magic interview them on WBLS in NY” [circa 1987]. Z-Trip has included several old school tracks ("Paul Revere", “Hey Ladies”, “Licensed To Ill”, “Sure Shot”, “Intergallactic”, “No Sleep ‘til Brooklyn”, “Dangerous”, “Brass Monkey” and oh so much more), as well as a few from the new disc ("Make Some Noise", "The Bill Harper Collection"). Holy sh&t is this good! It builds and builds, and gets hotter and hotter!

Z-Trip (a.k.a. Zach Sciacca) got his big break when he released Uneasy Listening Vol. 1 with his Bombshelter partner, DJ P, in 2001. While only 1000 copies were made, the album was distributed electronically as an MP3, and ended up at the top of several “album of year” lists, including Rolling Stone, Spin, and Entertainment Weekly. He’s been voted “America's Best DJ” by DJ Times, and the #1 DJ in Club District's “Top 10 DJ's in America”. He’s had a blessed existence, and has performed with music’s who’s who including Supernatural, Chuck D (Public Enemy), MURS, MSTRKRFT, Luke Sick, Chester Bennington (Linkin Park), and of course, Mix Master Mike from the Beastie Boys.

It’s not straight up Beastie Boys, but it is damn good.
