Loaded opinions are surrounding MGMT's latest LP, Congratulations. Some love the dramatic spin from Oracular Spectacular, which places the new songs in a sphere of firm progressiveness, yet, still grabs hold of the pop sensibilites. Some, on the other hand, are confused by this dynamic and a division has occured between the indie pop salivators and psychedelic pop junkies. Wherever on the spectrum your own opinions lie, the truth of the matter is that Congratulations was a hit, and the band recently managed to sell out their entire US tour, and spawn a new title track video. Check it out after the jump!

Like the album, the video is weird and hard to grasp. Somehow, it is still altogether lovable, even if you're not sure what to love.

It features the duo swagging accross a desert, looking like a pair of rock stars who have just sold a whole huge ton of records. But, wait! What is that in front of them? It's prehistoric looking! It's falling apart! Yet, these young lads seem to care a great deal about it. Answers on a postcard, please? In the meantime, check out the video below to get the full scope of what angle these guys were going for with "Congratulations".
