Like it, hate it, or somewhere in between, there's no end in sight for this chillwave trend. The good news is that we're going to hear even more sweet chillwave music. The bad news is that for every good album that sets sail under that genre's flag, there are dozens of half-assed artists putting out stuff just to "ride the [chill]wave" while the tide is high. The good news about the bad news? We're here to sort through the garbage and pick out the gems for you. With that in mind, we introduce Glitter Bones.

Glitter Bones is the new musical project of Columbia College, Chicago-based Zach Vouga and Nick Donlin. Self-described as having an interest in "teh occult," the band crafts tripped-out, dreamy, atmospheric pop that, after one listen, makes it easy to understand why they've gone with the "magic" theme so heavily. After all, to stand out from the crowd these days making heavily-layered chillwave or dream-pop soundscapes is nothing short of magical.

Having just released their debut EP, Returning the Magic via their BandCamp (since removed) this last January to solid reception, the duo are clearly not about to rest on those laurels, and have just released a second EP (again, via their BandCamp). Titled Amulet Calls, the 4-track EP is available for free download for at least the time being, and as such, we recommend you get on this shit ASAP.

Download the EP here. Feel free to thank us later.
