Birds & Batteries are a band whose music makes them hard to define. It is not quite rock, not quite electronica, not quite synth-pop, not quite alt-country, and frankly, not quite like anything we've heard before. Then what is it, you ask? It's definitely something you're going to want to hear.

Birds & Batteries may defy easy categorization, but don't let that make you think they're too out there, either. They're not. The Bay Area natives' experimental tendencies wander here and there from track to track, but never quite take them to the outer limits, leaving themselves easily within the reach of mainstream accessibility. Better yet, while song-to-song styles vary, the beats are consistently present enough to woo that ever-desired club-going crowd as well. The band also plays the remix game as well, most recently having done their thing on the ARMS track "Heat & Hot Water".

Keep your eyes on these guys, particularly in the next month or two, as they are set to release their new album, Panorama, on Oct 12 (via Spune/Velvet Blue Music). Check out the lead single from that album, "Strange Kind of Mirror," as well as a cut from their latest EP, below.
