Chicago's self-described “weirdo surf rock band,” Tiger Bones, is about to release their debut EP, Go Over Here, on March 1, 2011.
The 4-track EP runs an uneasy balance of danceable music, spiced with jangly guitars, caveman drumming, and moody mixed down vocals. Their first single, “Kill Them,” fuses shoulder-shaking beats with paranoid, repetitive vocals reminiscent of early Cure, and Joy Division. Some might write the electro infused, reverb masked goth-rock track off as being too generic fir their tastes, but nobody really wants to hear what those people have to say anyway; Give "Kill Them" a listen and tell us we're wrong. We dare you.
Go Over Here will be released on vinyl through Tiger Bones’ label, Dedd Foxx, and as a free download on digi-label Candy Dinner. The vinyl EP features four original songs and the digital version includes an additional bonus track that that channels the ghosts of Harry Nilsson and Joy Division.
