"Meyrin Fields" from Broken Bells' followup EP gets a weighty electronic remix from Sub Swara.
Sub Swara, the duo of Dhruva and Dave Sharma, takes the Bells' track and beefs up the body with some serious electronic knick-knacks. Where Danger Mouse's original fell in his trademark production style of pairing guitars and synthetics seamlessly, Sub Swara tones the guitars down and translates the other instruments into familiar clunks, bleeps and bloops. The vocals stay front-and-center and the structure stays intact, so really most of the "remixing" takes place in the realm of the instruments. The end result is a pretty fun interpretation of a song that isn't particularly fun to begin with. Check it out/listen/download below.
"Meyrin Fields" is from Broken Bells' latest four-song EP from March, called Meyrin Fields. You can get it here.
You can download this remix, or a number of their other songs, at Sub Swara's Soundcloud. The duo is currently working on an EP due out this Spring/Summer (now-ish or soon-ish). Oh, and check them out on tour, they put on one hell of a show.
