..and inspires aimless floating. After listening to "Space", I was confused, intrigued, and a little upset. You can't just take someone to space without planning activities; bad idea.

You think it'll be effortlessly cool, because it's space... but then everyone just floats and it's kind of awkward. This is how I felt. So naturally, I had questions. Who is Starscream? Well according to Derrick Sanskrit, founder of The Pop Aesthetic, the band "knows exactly when a gentle hand is needed and when a punch to the face is deserved." Huh. Still confused.

So I checked out some of their earlier work. The New York duo (sometimes trio) have been around since 2007. Most recently, they were featured in the season finale of MTV's Skins. Their EP Pegasus boasts thematically relevant track names such as "Neptune" and "Shred the Gnar (Into the Stars)". I commend the band's dedicated spacemanship, but I can still say with confidence that I do not enjoy being gently handled, nor punched in the face, by Starscream. But maybe you will. If you like chip/electronic/post-rock progressive, and have an affinity for outer space and lasers, it could work out.

Here's a promo for their forthcoming project (http://vimeo.com/21379605).
Their upcoming album Future, Towards the Edge of Forever will be released for download via SoundCloud and Bandcamp on May 10th. If you simply CANNOT wait, hopefully "Space" can hold you over, as you can download it RIGHT NOW. Have a listen.
