Islands frontman Nick Thorburn has a few tricks up his sleeve, in the form of three new songs. The tracks are tentatively assumed to be for Islands at some point in the future. Get all the details on how the tracks came to be after the break!
Last month, Islands frontman Nick Thorburn performed on Radio Happy Hour. Radio Happy Hour is a live radio murder mystery/comedy show that occurs every few months, and past guests have include the likes of David Bazan and Andrew W.K. However, when Thorburn performed, he announced that the songs he performed would eventually become new Islands songs.
The three tracks, "Shotgun Vision", "Lonely Love", and an unknown third track would be best suited for Islands, but we do not doubt the possibility that Thorburn could end up funneling the tracks into any of his FIVE side projects. The tracks are more stripped-down, which isn't exactly Islands-style, but it seems like Thorburn is creative enough to make them work for Islands somehow. Remember that unknown third track? Apparently, it is about Buddy Holly's widow, so, yes, we think it will fit in with Islands pretty well.
