After Neutral Milk Hotel disbanded in the late 1990s, it was extremely rare to find singer/guitarist/songwriter Jeff Magnum out and about on tour, let alone in the public eye. But, of course we all will always remember their critically-acclaimed work and arguably one of the greatest albums of the decade, In the Aeroplane Over the Sea. Well, news of Neutral Uke Hotel, yes that’s right, Neutral Uke Hotel, is being filed under items of a potentially sacred nature. Can we just say that one more time? Neutral Uke Hotel.

Singer & guitarist/ukuleleist Shawn Fogel of the band Golden Bloom is Neutral Uke Hotel, a ukulele-based project that covers Neutral Milk Hotel's In The Aeroplane Over the Sea in its entirety. Videos of Fogel’s covers began surfacing a few months back (like the video posted below), and now he is taking his show on the road.
