The good news is that Morrissey loves animals. The bad news is that he doesn't care for Chinese people.

Last week, Morrissey told The Guardian that one “can't help but feel that the Chinese are a subspecies”, in regard to the culture's treatment of animals and the apparently lackadaisical animal welfare programs enjoyed by the nation's dogs and cats. While the Chinese government has not formally responded, backlash across the Internet has been quite acrimonious, and it is predicted that Moz will be thoroughly blacklisted from delivery by Chinese Restaurants and Noodle Houses all across the globe.

This is, unfortunately, not the first time that Morrissey has been accused of racism. In 2008, Morrissey made a donation of twenty-eight thousand pounds to Love Music Hate Racism after he made allegedly anti-immigrant comments in NME. The accusations included a sort of Nationalist dismay about the loss of the British Identity amid the influx of immigrants into the country. In response, a spokesman for the organization has stated that they would reject any future support from Morrissey if he did not rescind his comments. In addition to his comments in interviews, the singer has performed what many view as racially-charged acts, most notably performing while draped in a Union Jack flag, against a backdrop of two female skinheads at a Madness reunion concert in 1992.

Morrissey maintains that he is, in fact, not racist. Perhaps he was ironically lumping the entire Chinese people together as one subhuman group of animal-hating troglodytes? At this point, this is starting to sound like Moz's protests that he is asexual.
