Fear no more, Mixtasy Volume 3 is here to please you; it comes action packed with some of the coolest fucking beats known to man, presented to you by Eclectic Method. A mix that will surely fit the position of the previous Mixtasy Volumes, call it a mashup, call it overdone - whatever you call it, it's off the hook and it's in your speakers.
I recently did an article on Leanne Grimes, who is an Indie mashup artist - comparative to Girl Talk -- but out of left field appears Eclectic Method, and their take on mashups, this track that will blow your brittle mind to pieces. Eclectic Method has inspired many bands, from Phish to Fatboy Slim and even Public Enemy - and even better, have headlined at the Sundance festival for their end-of-the-night parties. Hailing from the U.K. are London's finest locals Jonny Wilson, Ian Edgar, and Geoff Gamlen making up what is called Eclectic Method - they've even done music for television, film, and video games.
Hearing both my favorite and my most hated songs in this mix has made me appreciate mashups to a whole entire new level, if you're an electronic enthusiast you'll grow to enjoy this stuff - it's never boring, it won't leave you High and Dry like Radiohead might, and it definitely will make Nirvana's overplayed top 4 tracks sound 100x better.
This track is roughly 2 hours of straight bone cracking music; its intensity will make you wish you wore your Depends. It'd be a tough effort to try and note every, single, artist in this mix - most of the songs you hear in this you'll more than likely know if you're over the age of 12, and if you're under the age of 12 - you're reading the wrong article, this shit is fire, kids.
From Beastie Boys to Jay-Z this mix is nuts, overlaying songs like it's their full time job - bwahaha. OPEN YOUR MINDS PEOPLE! I can guarantee no level of mash up has ever prepared you for a track like this. I've listened to this mix through 2 times, and I probably will put it on my party list - you can play this mix for its entirety and not displease one person; this shit hits every chord, flips every genre into a new perspective, and this track twists every song imaginable into a mix of pure delight.
I'm about 46 minutes through this track and I hear Empire of the Sun DROP! What a fucking BANGER of a song in any form, this brings new light to this mix - holy mother of taquitos. After reassembling myself, I hear some Daft Punk spliced to perfection - I'm bouncing around in my chair like a fucking toddler.
Around the 1 hour mark, I hear Kesha, who I hate with a deep and dark passion - then back again, terrible top 40's come back to attack with Lady Gaga - these artists need to fall off the face of the earth, they're terrible and should not exist - but within this mix they're given some justice to their poor excuse for music.
Gimmie just a little bit more of this mix people, I'm at wits end, I have been broken and reconstructed at least an infinite amount of times during this mix, it's gotten a little weak around the point of 1:14 - but worry no more, it picks up its pace around 1:16 where you hear Congorock - Babylon ripping up your speakers, transmitting to your brain ripping up every strand of intelligence you've ever worked towards. Hearing Congorock with country intertwined with some serious r&b has got me in quite the giddy mood, I would have to say that this is fantastic, and it lives up to having electronic dynamite strapped to it. As if you thought the mix was near its finish you hear The Killers questioning the idea that "are we human" - yes, for the millionth time we are human - most of us are dancers, and don't let anyone tell you dancing is not a drug on its own people.
I'd give this a go to continue further, but I'm more than certain your feeling a bit saucy, probably coming down off of some hard drugs - and no longer want to read what I have to say, I'm not offended - I'm actually very thankful to present this to you. As we do us here at InYourSpeakers, you continue rolling your face off to the beats, sweating bullets, and making sweet sweaty love to your partner.
There's no possible way to end this mix without feeling a sense of fulfillment, you've endured two hours of some of the grimiest songs produced, and after this mix you'll grow an appreciation for the mashup genre, and of course Eclectic Method.
