Although they have been inactive for nearly a decade, the iconic D.C. punk outfit Fugazi has announced plans to make available hundreds of their live shows online.

Reportedly, fansite World of Fugazi says they have spoken with Fugazi co-leader Guy Picciotto, who says that we may hear the vast archive of Fugzai shows pretty soon. Picciotto says, “We are not that far away from being able to set up our own website where ultimately almost every show we ever played will be available for download.”

If all goes well, Picciotto thinks the first batch of shows might appear in 2010 or early 2011. If you don’t think you can wait that long, the band has already made a ton of shows available through their Fugazi Live Series.

Although there has been no official word on the matter from their label yet, fans are already crossing their fingers for a reunion tour. If such a crazy idea as that becomes even somewhat of a reality on the music radar, be sure that IYS will have the details for you first.
