The upcoming EP from Flying Lotus could easily be the audiophile's best friend. Hearsay followed by hype, followed by a few leaked tracks, followed by the gluttonous consumption of an album (which only ever pokes its head up every three years) can quickly become somewhat dormant in the bellies of us music lovers, however, the EP saves us from ourselves. It is the stepping stone from one artist's greatest accomplishment to his next unknown creation. It's the peppercorn sauce drizzled over our perfectly-cooked prime rib. The perfectly cooked steak in question happens to be one 2010's best releases thus far - Cosmogramma, from Flying Lotus. His next upcoming work, the Pattern + Grid EP will be hitting shelves on September 21st. Our bellies are rumbling already. Is yours?

Down below, you can stream a track named "Camera Day", which is set to appear on the forthcoming release. The incredible artwork was created by artistic veteran Theo Ellsworth, and if you manage to purchase the vinyl edition of the EP, you will also get access to an exclusive poster by Ellsworth. You can click here to pre-order a copy of the release, and we highly recommend it!

We have been told that the release will be a step away from the lounge intrumentation used so effectively on Cosmogramma. Instead, we will hear seven brand-spanking new tracks, which are the result of Flying Lotus jumping over his sampler and landing right in the middle of ballpit full of synthesizers, vocoders and other weird and wonderful machines. Keep an eye on InYourSpeakers for a full review very soon.
