J Dilla - Donut Shop
First off, we've got a six-track release from one of the most important key musicians of the last twenty years, the late hip hop pioneer and production powerhouse, J Dilla. It already begun years ago, but I think we're going to see credit given to Dilla more and more as the years go by for the genius that he was and the influence he is. This release features three previously unreleased tracks, along with three previous gems, and can be downloaded here.
Big Gigantic - A Place Behind the Moon
Next we've got the second album from electronic duo Big Gigantic. Being released today on 1320 Records (STS9's label), the album centers around saxaphonist/producer, Dominic Lalli, and drummer, Jeremy Salken, but explores a wide range of musical styles and ideas under the generous umbrella we call electronic. The eleven-track album can be downloaded for free here, or you can buy the album for $10 and get an extra bonus track, featuring STS9 (Must be some killer bonus track).
