Deerhunter, discontented with today's internet-ad-centric culture, is taking us back to the good old days of walls quadruple-layered with DIY flyers. Their new album and 4th LP, Halcyon Digest, available September 28th, comes complete with its own flyer-like website, and includes DIY fun for everyone.

Deerhunter frontman Bradford Cox, enamored by the old handmade and Xeroxed flyers of his youth, has designed a flyer by hand in the cut-and-paste style of his new-wave heroes. Here’s where the DIY fun comes in: Fans are asked to print the flyer out, photocopy it, and paste it around town in their favorite independent record store, co-op, bedroom, library, etc.

If you get this far, then you should take photos of the posted flyers (I imagine an overcrowded, overlapping public board rife with other flyers) and send them to flyers@halcyondigest.com, where they will then be displayed (digitally). Don’t forget to include the city where the photo was taken in your email!

Those who send in images will be the first to hear (via an e-mailed link) Halcyon Digest's lead-off single in the next few weeks. They will also receive an exclusive non-album track! Secret song score!
