We have some awesome free MP3s today! New to IYS are the emotionally cleansing sounds of Perfume Genius, fresh vibes from Lemonade, and Dark Dark Dark’s jazzy tunes. We also have some brand new tracks from Cloud Nothings, Gucci Mane, Crookers, and Tired Pony. Check ‘em out after the break!

Perfume Genius
“Learning” is both beautiful and vividly disturbing in its gentle haunting. This is the first song written by Mike Hadreas, the man behind Perfume Genius. Though only in his twenties, he has encountered many of the evils of the world and gained enough experience for a couple life times. Through his love for piano and ability to forget about how his voice sounds, he was able to create music that not only draws his listeners in, but helps heal his invisible wounds.

Cloud Nothings
As the second installment of brand new Cloud Nothings music, we’re happy to see that the band stuck with the lo-fi style but upgraded from the raw feeling of Turning On. Cloud Nothings mastermind Dylan Baldi promised it would be “less lo-fi” and kept to his word with the 7″ Didn’t You officially released yesterday. You can grab your own exclusive copy at Old Flame Records now.

Lemonade
What a perfect time to IYS debut an artist like Lemonade! As summer settles in, the fresh and playful garage/neo-soul artist is a great way to cool off. New single Lifted just dropped on Tuesday via True Panther. The single includes Lemonade’s original “Lifted” as well as six remixes of the song (including Ghosts on Tape and Shortstuff, among others). Below, we have Le Chev’s heavy workup.

Gucci Mane
After we told you about Gucci Mane’s mixtape, we realized we wanted to share one of our favorite tracks with you, so here it is! Track six, “Mr. Zone 6,” caught our attention as a laid-back jam focused on having good self-esteem. The man who sings “I’m so good at ballin’” also influenced M.I.A. Don’t forget that you can get the entire mix over at Live Mixtapes!

Dark Dark Dark
If you haven’t heard Dark Dark Dark yet, you are in for a treat. Lead singer Nona Marie Invie is like a more accessible version of Regina Spektor backed by a more traditional sounding band. The jazzy and soulful “Daydreaming” comes straight off of the band’s forthcoming album Wild Go. While it’s not set to release until September 28th, if you pre-order a copy, it will come a week before the release date. Or just catch them on tour now.

Crookers
In the next installment of new music, and after releasing a teaser beat track, from Crookers.net, there are now eight (!) new tracks out on the website. Though all separate tracks, they go pretty well in sequence. Consider how versatile they are, too. Whether you’re looking for some music to get you in a creative mood for an art project, something to zone out to, or even some low-key dance music, you can use any one of these beats. Click here.

Tired Pony
In what may be today’s greatest indie collaboration, Tired Pony came to life. The band pulls it’s members from Snow Patrol’s singer Gary Lightbody, Peter Buck from R.E.M., and Richard Colburn of Belle and Sebastian. If that weren’t enough, their debut album includes a lil’ help from M. Ward, the Editors' frontman Tom Smith, and Zooey Deschanel. Check out some of their songs via YouTube!
