The end of summer marks many things: heading back to school, an end to a summer of sand, surf, and parties, and oftentimes the announcement of really awesome things happening in the music realm. This summer's end is no different, and on September 1, Big Gigantic will released their next album. Get all the details on the new record after the jump!

According to a recent press release, Big Gigantic's upcoming record, A Place Behind The Moon, "explores a unique mixture of electronic and acoustic styles." The second record from Big Gigantic is "the strongest statement to date by Big Gigantic and it effortlessly combines saxophone and syncopated rum rhythms with intoxicating, intertwining electronic undertones." It sounds like this next record will definitely bring something new to the table for the electronic genre at large, and will be a defining moment for the band themselves.

The record will be available for free download on September 1 via 1320 Records. It will also be available for purchase via iTunes, where a higher quality version of the record will include a bonus track featuring the collaboration between Big Gigantic and STS9.
