After waiting over a week – and probably wasting a lot of time trying to spin Arcade Fire’s digital record - the band has released their 12’’ single of their upcoming album, The Suburbs, featuring songs, “The Suburbs” and “Month of May.” Better yet, the digital record doesn’t do that annoying thing where it plays for a few seconds and quits spinning all of the sudden - it actually keeps spinning. Listen to the songs below and enjoy the fully functional “record player.” If you pre-order their album, you can download the songs for free on their website.
The Suburbs is set to release August 2nd in the UK/Europe and August 3rd in the U.S. through Merge Records. Additionally, Arcade Fire also released the upcoming album art.
On top of all the good news, the band has also released more summer tour dates, including several shows in the U.S., where they will be touring with Spoon for part of the time.
