The usually quiet soul within the legendary Radiohead camp is set to release a solo album. Phil Selway has been dabbling in solo maerial since around 2001 with projects like 7Worlds Collide; however, this August will see the first official solo release from the drummer. The album is entitled, Familial, and will feature an array of guests including Wilco drummer, Glenn Kotche, as well as vocals and instrumental duties from Lisa Germano and Sebastian Steinberg. Read on for more details.

Mr. Selway, along with Thom Yorke, Ed O Brien, and Johnny and Colin Greenwood, has been locked away in Los Angeles recently, recording the follow up to the spectacular, In Rainbows, which was released back in 2007. It seems, though, Phil has found time to lay down some tracks set to showcase the full scale of his talent. If all you have heard is the man's mad drumming skills, then be prepared to be surprised - it's not just Thom Yorke who has a beautiful voice. The bulk of Selway's solo material has had an extremely stripped back nature to it, which is simply very nice to listen to. Down below is a stream of Selway showing his skills. Stay tuned for more details on the release.
