Manic Street Preachers' discography has always been synonymous with rebellion and a left-field attitude. The band have never been what you would call "underground", however, the band's attitude with the press, their cryptic - often politically-charged - lyrics and stylistic changes between albums have alienated a lot of potential fans from their downright influential music. Over the years, you wouldn't be blamed for thinking that that the group probably don't give a toss about alienating anyone. However, it seems there has been an itch developing within the close-knit Welsh group, as they have stated that their upcoming LP, Postcards From A Young Man, will be a very commercial and deliberate attempt to break through to the mainstream arena. You can get your hands on their new single after the jump.
Down below, you can stream the new single titled "I'm Leaving You For Solitude," or if you head over HERE, you can grab the single and cherish it forever. Don't be expecting an influence from past efforts. This is mournful, this is a love song, it's acoustic driven, and it's definitely commercial. That doesn't mean it is automatically bad, however, hardcore Manic fans should be warned.
