Can you imagine life without those bangin' FabricLive records? How about life without the dream of making the pilgrimage to electronic Mecca at sometime in your life? No? Well neither could we, and thankfully the gods of dance have given London's Fabric club a lifeline. It is with great pleasure that IYS can reveal that the club is offically out of administration and on the road to financial recovery. Now let's dance.
Fabric has been responsible for providing spotlight on an array of artists from all corners of electronic cultures for years now, sometimes even single handedly kick-starting careers for talent that would otherwise have gone unnoticed. With this ethos and those cool metalic cd covers, what could possibly have gone wrong? Well money of course, and bad investments in particular. The brains behind Fabric reckoned it would be a solid move to invest in a new super-club in London named Matter. The deal went wrong, and for some reason contrary to expectation, the club wasn't a success, leading to its quick closure. This financial gamble made ripples which worryingly reached the flagship club, placing Fabric in administration. But, and theres always a but, light has been found at the end of the tunnel and an unamed investor has bailed the club out, creating a plan of action to help get the books balanced and the acts flowing. Phew. The pilgrimage can be well and truly circled in the calendar once more.
