Tim Kasher just released a new (sort of) EP, Bigamy: More Songs From The Monogamy Sessions, that features seven fresh tracks that were written at the same time as Kasher’s debut solo album The Game Of Monogamy, released in Oct. 2010.
Bigamy continues in the vein of Monogamy with all the heartaches, emotions, and adult angst spilling in to replace the teen angst that defined Cursive. The songs run the gamut from the slowish “No Harmony” to the acoustic guitar driven, tale of love lost (like much of the album), “The Jessica”. Apparently Kasher always had a jonesin’ to record Azure Ray’s “Trees Keep Growing” – you’ll find a pretty hot version of that on Bigamy as well.
If you’ve never heard Kasher with Cursive, The Good Life, or on his own before now, he’s always reminded us of a cross between Paul Westerberg of the Replacements, and the Shout Out Louds’ Adam Olenius, or Britt Daniel from Spoon.
Bigamy was predominantly recorded this spring by Kasher himself in various locations. The album is available online at the Saddle Creek webstore (link to the right), or at Kasher’s upcoming shows.
