Neon Indian Fallout

Our Rating

Music Player:

Neon Indian’s new track “Fallout” is '80s retro all the way.

Of all the retrowave and chillwave acts that have been popular since last summer, other bands pale in comparison to Neon Indian. The vocals on this track are reminiscent of When in Rome’s Clive Farrington or Jesus & Mary Chain’s Jim Reid. All in all, not a stunning track, but certainly solid.

Neon Indian is the musical alias of Alan Palomo; the name “Neon Indian” was given to Palomo by an ex-girlfriend as the result of a missed date to drop acid with her (detailed in his song "Should Have Taken Acid With You”). Interestingly, his father was a Mexican pop star in the '70s and early '80s, so Palomo is no stranger to the music biz world.

His first album, 2009's Psychic Chasms made Neon Indian a darling of the music blogosphere. He’s about to launch his full-length sophomore album, Era Extraña, out on September 13th. Hopefully it will be just as hot as his last release!
