Music Player:

This band is pure magic! Mix together a huge helping of Queen’s dramatic rock-opera style, two cups of XTC’s unique musicality, and a heaping tablespoon of the Who’s crushing rock, and you’re got Major Powers.

Nick Powers, along with brothers Kevin and Dylan Gautschi, all grew up together in the East Bay of California. They may have started out by playing in different bands, but eventually, their sensibilities combined in a kind of musical kismet and they formed Major Powers. As tight as this band is, they’ve actually only been playing together for a mere 12 months. However, since then, they’ve played numerous shows, and recently recorded a stellar 13-song debut album, We Became Monsters that includes “93,000,000 Miles,” “Peas & Porridge,” “The Idiot Parade” – awesomeness, all – and more.

So, if you’re a fan of rock-opera, or just plain drama rack, then Major Powers & the Lofi Symphony are just the thing to kill what ails ya.
