Cult membership requires owning at least three cats and having an active Tumblr account.

Using her telepathic mind-control techniques, Taylor Swift has won the adoration of Millennial pop princess, Britney Spears. In an interview with E! News, Britney was asked about Taylor, probably in hopes of stirring up some sort of cross-generational feud. Instead, Britney stated that she actually loves Taylor Swift: "I think she's adorable. I love her music. Her music makes me so happy. She's very level-headed. She's a very, very smart girl. Very wise." Spears made these comments in between sips of a gourmet Kool-Aid tea, crafted by Swift herself.

While it is nice to see female pop stars supporting one another, rather than stirring up silly feuds, the Taylor Swift worship is getting a little suspicious. Is it really possible for everyone to unanimously love Taylor Swift? On almost every single stop on her 1989 tour, Taylor has brought out "friends" or, alternatively, enough star power to outshine the sun. From The Weeknd, to Lorde, to the entire U.S Women's soccer team, Taylor Swift is slowly but surely converting every buzz-worthy person into her inner circle.

Britney's support of Taylor, while likely completely genuine, comes off more like Regina George's mom in Mean Girls, rather than just a supportive colleague. Praise of Taylor, it seems, is more favorable than knocking her. Mentioning her in an interview makes for easy attention. But I just cannot shake the image of "cool mom" Spears offering Taylor and her trendy friends snacks and virgin cocktails in an effort to still feel like a young pop star again. Then again, it could simply be Taylor's master plan for world domination, influencing celebrities one by one, into a future where we hear nothing but "Bad Blood" and "Shake It Off" every time we walk into a shopping mall. Oh wait, that's already the reality we live in.
