Gwen Stefani dumps lothario husband, Gavin Rossdale, igniting a firestorm of '90s nostalgia.

Citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split, No Doubt lead singer Gwen Stefani has filed for divorce from Bush vocalist, Gavin Rossdale. The couple, who met on tour in the mid '90s, married in 2002. They attempted to shield their marriage from the public eye with varying degrees of success, mostly out of concern for their young children.

"While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment," the couple said, in a statement to People Magazine.

The relationship was plagued with frequent rumors of Rossdale's infidelity, such as when fellow '90s icon Courtney Love told Howard Stern that she had slept with Rossdale, in 2010. Despite this, the couple was still adored by many who grew up in the heyday of No Doubt and Bush. Upon the announcement, the internet was set ablaze with heartbroken fans.

The couple did not sign a prenup, and are therefore subject to California's 50/50 community property laws. Stefani is worth approximately 45 million dollars more than Rossdale, which could mean a considerable financial loss for the singer.

Despite Stefani's recent rise to celebrity level stardom, the two were an iconic part of '90s alternative history. To those distressed by the news, we suggest you don't speak, and instead breathe in, breathe out. All good things come to an end.
