Beach House wants you to come play with them!

Baltimore based band Beach House has simultaneously released two new singles from their upcoming album, Depression Cherry, and you can access them via a new interactive tool on their website. Clicking on the "Single Finder" option directs you to another page that lists their entire catalog, along with instructions on how to use this innovative feature. You simply choose three of their previously released tracks from the list, and some sort of magical algorithm determines which of their new singles will best suit your taste. Then, sit back, relax, and let "Sparks," "Beyond Love," or "PPP" carry you away to your own personal happy place.

The band explained their thought process behind this new approach on their Facebook page saying, "For us, it’s always a strange moment when a single has to be chosen. No one song ever feels like a perfect representative for a record. This device allows you to choose the 3 songs you have enjoyed most in the past and have a “single” chosen for you based loosely on what we consider to be musical similarities. enjoy."

But wait, there's more! Another new feature allows fans to suggest any three songs from their catalog to be considered for a future setlist. Called the "Setlist Creator," this option gives concert goers the chance to hear less often play tunes at upcoming Beach House shows, an idea the band also expounded upon on Facebook:

"While on tour, we change our setlist every night and certain songs get played only a few times per tour. This device will allow us to know if there is a large number of people wanting to hear a certain song in any one place. It’s not that we will definitely follow it, but it will certainly influence our set lists…… maybe 50 people in milwaukee want to hear a song we made 10 years ago?!?!"

Depression Cherry will be released August 28 via Sub Pop, and check back with us on Friday, August 14th for a full review of the album.
