Joey Bada$$ is no stranger controversy, but this time it looks like he’s on the wrong side of history.

The rapper, who dropped B4.Da.$$ earlier this year, has become embroiled in yet another high-profile incident, this time coming to the defense of accused serial rapist Bill Cosby.

His tweets quickly grew increasingly aggressive in their defense of Cosby, who it has recently been found admitted to using Quaaludes along with Benadryl to give to women with whom he has had sexual encounters. Confronted with this, his answer was astonishingly simple:

Bada$$ quickly turned the argument to race, before just as quickly turning the conversation against internet users who are using the incident to create a “meme,” before then alleging this is all related to historical revisionism of slavery. You have to wonder how much, exactly, internet memes are an extension of imperialism, but Bada$$ insists he is being misrepresented by the media. In an unrelated incident around the time B4.Da.$$ dropped, he stated that "the crucification of (his) image had already begun," but it looks like he's doing a fine job all by himself. You can find the “real” story on his snapchat: @badmonjozif.
