Jay Z

It looks like Jay Z may finally be trying to get out of his sinking ship.

According to the "Rumor Mill" of Hits Daily Double, Jay Z may be attempting to cut ties with the very costly music streaming service:

"Tidal has gone eerily quiet of late, apart from statements of support from Nicki Minaj and Madonna, and the word is that Jay Z is looking to get out. This ambitious undertaking has cost him millions of his own money because he never got the expected funding, he still hasn’t paid the licensing fees to the rights holders and no one is likely to throw him a life preserver and bail him out, so he has little choice at this point except to stop the bleeding."

Tidal has faced a mountain of issues and scandals since its inception, from the questionable nature of its business model to almost losing Beyoncé. Most recently, Tidal has suffered lawsuits from Cash Money Records to the tune of $50 million, alleging lost royalties for Lil Wayne's Free Weezy Album, a Tidal exclusive. So it should come as no surprise that Jay Z may want to distance himself from the struggling media giant (although, if it is, we have you covered on that too). We can only hope he won't end up like 50.
