Trip hop might be a dying genre, but not if Big Boi and Phantogram have anything to say about it.

It's been three years since Big Boi's last release, Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors (unless you count this Game of Thrones shenanigans), and before today we had no inkling of new material. But on Instagram earlier, BB confirmed that he had just wrapped up recording a new record, collaborating with indie pop duo Phantogram.

It's not the first time the former Outkast member and Phantogram have worked together either - on Vicious Lies, the track "Objectum Sexuality" was a Phantogram feature, and a great one, at that. They also worked together on "Lines" with A$AP Rocky, which you can stream above. Phantogram's dreamscape-y sound works well for beat creation, and allows for lots of creative use of effects on the vocal lines as well. We don't have any information about the name of the project or release date, but if it sounds like "Objectum Sexuality" or "Lines," we're excited. Watch this space for updates.
