Property of Zack, "a blog with daily coverage and commentary of the underground music scene," as told by their about page, is closing their doors after six years of writing (and Mark Hoppus has taken the blame).

Founded by Zack Zarrillo and Emily Coch, the blog has been a phenomenal source of news and new music in the punk scene for the past several years. The post about the closing, written by Zack himself, is vague about the reasons for it, though it does state that "[his] life is in a period of deep change and instead of risking integrity, happiness, or feeling guilt - I would rather PropertyOfZack say goodbye the right way." The site's closing week will not feature any news or commentary, but instead will feature "friends of the site" with a variety of farewell posts - the first of which is already up. In response to a request for further comment on the reasoning behind the shutting down, Zarrillo also added that "everything we want to say about the site closing this week will be said on the site itself."

PoZ had a major presence in both the punk and music journalism communities, and will be missed dearly by their readers. We'll keep you updated as information on the site's closing comes out in the next week, although at least one musician has already taken the blame for it.
