To the dismay of electronic concert-goers, Instagram recently banned the highly popular #EDM hashtag. It was speculated that the reason for this was recent festival deaths, but the real culprit is quite a bit more scandalous.

"We block (i.e. make unsearchable) certain hashtags when they are consistently being used to share images and videos that violate our community guidelines," an Instagram spokesperson stated. "In this case, #EDM was being used to share content that violates our guidelines around nudity."

Basically, the porn police over at Instagram are sick and tired of having to pick through and remove all the glittered up tits and glow in the dark schlongs that come their way via the #EDM portal.

Apparently this is not he first time Instagram has given a hashtag the death penalty over offensive content. Earlier in the month, #curvy was put to rest due to it's widespread use in body-shaming. Most likely, other hashtags that are broadly and consistently being used for offensive and pornographic content will be dealt similarly in the near future.

So, next time you are at a rave and want to snap some smut, just remember: Instagram is watching, and they will not hesitate to kill an innocent hashtag if you can't stay clothed.
