In Episode 054 of their weekly podcast, Monstercat teased material as well as a video of a new addition to their EDM roster. After a week of intrigue and suspense, the label has revealed the new co-pilot: San Holo. Even more exciting? He does not come empty handed.

Hailing from the Netherlands, San Holo launched his music career with velocity in late 2014, releasing a slew of innovative hip hop remixes in the form of a remix series titled Don't Touch The Classics. The compilation included remixes of Dr. Dre's “The Next Episode” ft. Snoop Dogg, Outkast's “Ms. Jackson,” and 50 Cent's “In Da Club,” all of which have collectively garnered over 10 million plays on SoundCloud. San Holo followed up these successful remixes in September of 2014 with his debut EP Cosmos, released on Heroic. This release drew the eyes of many in the industry, including trendsetters LessThan3 and Earmilk, and with increased exposure and a signature sound, his SoundCloud following grew from 5,000 to over 100,000 in just six months.

During this time, San Holo also started a project called bitbird with visual artist Thorwald, which serves as a promotional launchpad for experimental producers with potential in the future industry. Soon bitbird will evolve into a fully functional label and clothing company, with a new EP to be released alongside the label's opening in the third quarter of 2015.

This month San Holo will release his highly anticipated Victory EP, out May 25 on Monstercat. Both experimental and experiential, the 3-track EP combines San Holo's innovative and futuristic production with a series of animated videos and other teasers, creating a multi-dimensional and cohesive work of art that pushes the boundaries of conventional EDM.
