Jay-Z's streaming service Tidal is having a hard time getting off the ground, and recent events regarding rights to Jay-Z's wife Beyoncé's exclusive material may mean another step backwards for the company.

According to Bloomberg, both Sony and Warner have been hounding Tidal for large advances for the rights to their artist's content, and though Tidal and Warner have come to agreement, the deal with Sony has not yet been solidified. If Tidal can't come up with the money to pay Sony's upfront requests, the service could lose one of their figurehead artists, Jay-Z's wife Beyoncé.

This turn of events could not only hurt Tidal's chances the streaming market, but would also be an embarrassing and personal blow to Jay-Z himself.
