This week has been a rough one for hip hop tycoons, with Young Thug having been arrested on Wednesday for "terroristic threats," and DMX sentenced to six months in the hole for $400,000 in unpaid child support. These incidents pale however in comparison to the latest scandal: an indictment that names Young Thug and Birdman as allegedly conspiring a murder plot against Young Money maverick Lil Wayne.

The indictment refers to a shooting at Lil Wayne's tour bus in Atlanta earlier this year. No one was injured in the attack, but the recent indictment revealed by Channel 2 Action News names Young Thug (Jeffery Williams) and Birdman (Bryan Williams), Wayne's mentor and head of Cash Money records, as co-conspirators behind the attack. Young Thug's tour manager Jimmy Winfrey has been charged with carrying out the actual shooting.

The details of the situation were Tweeted this morning by WSBTV's Mike Petchenik:

The entire situation sounds ridiculous, and it absolutely is. But apparently there is more to it than bad blood and thugs with hurt feelings. In January of this year, Lil Wayne sued Birdman and Cash Money records for $51 million and a severance from the label, which he claimed withheld a large amount of owed money from the release of his latest album Tha Carter V, in doing so violating his contract. Young Thug, who's "Halftime" music video (watch below) and Barter 6 album were cited in the indictment, apparently took Birdman's side on the suit.

Neither Young Thug nor Birdman have been charged with conspiring a murder, but both are charged with attempting to act out a scene from The Godfather, which is arguably a far worse offense seeing as they could never do it justice.
