Weezer is gearing up to release their upcoming album Everything Will Be Alright In The End next month and from that album they have shared “The British Are Coming.” On this song we hear Rivers Cuomo channeling his inner Paul Revere as he sings about rebellion.

The track opens with a military drum-roll and ominous bells with a voiceover stating “Our mission is to keep the tradition alive. It’s up to us; it’s our responsibility. Who else is going to do it?” before turning into a patriotic pop-rock jam. The finger-picked acoustics intertwine with one another as the sweet harmonies supervene. “The British Are Coming” is guitar driven and carries an infectious melody that is reminiscent of The Green Album. This anthemic track makes good on its Revolutionary War references as Cuomo sings triumphantly in the rising chorus and the guitar solo explodes like a cannon.

Take a listen to the self-proclaimed “sons of liberty's” new track “The British Are Coming” below. Everything Will Be Alright In The End will be released October 7th.
