First Rate People have come a long way from their debut 2010 straightforward dancepop single, “Girls’ Night.” Now they’re gearing up to drop their more eclectic full length LP, Everest, next week.
In the last three years, the Toronto pop group has cycled through at least 40 members and probably as many influences. Now they’ve begun to refine their tastes for pop and more electronic dance music into a single sound. Their newest album, available to stream on their SoundCloud, bears a greater emphasis on production, weaving acoustic instruments in and out of the mix. Between six members, everyone sings.
