Fetty Wap Saves The Day After Chris Brown Bails On LGBT Party
Music Player:

First it was Travis Scott caught on tape using homophobic slurs towards his fans, and now Chris Brown has cancelled an appearance at an LGBT event.

This past Saturday, Sept. 5, Brown was reportedly scheduled to attend the Traxx Girls sponsored Gay Pride event, which had over 4000 people in attendance. Brown was advertised as a "special guest host," but when the time came to fulfill his duties, he was a no show. According to the original report from the editor of the Georgia Voice, Darian Aaron, "of the estimated 4,000 women in attendance, Brown refused to enter the building once he learned that a handful of gay men were present."

The problem isn't that he didn't show up...
Chris Brown is not the first celebrity to cancel an appearance at a club event. He was in town while on his current One Hell Of A Nite Tour, and his show at Aaron’s Amphitheater was scheduled for Sept. 5, the same night as the party. The issue isn't that he was a no show, it's the reason - Brown simply changed his mind when he realized there were gay men in attendance. This is not just an outlandish thought, it's discrimination, once again rearing its ugly head in the world of rap music. There were over 4000 of his fans there and just because a few were gay men, remember the rest were gay women, suddenly Brown can't show up? In a statement to the Georgia Voice, Traxx Girls promoter Melissa Scott put it best, and made it clear that she was unhappy with the no show.

“I think it’s unfortunate for mainstream artists to take people’s money with the complete prior knowledge of knowing what the event is and being very clear about what the event is about," said Scott. "I’m completely baffled. You know it’s gay pride. You knew you agreed when you sent the contract in and took the money.”

Brown quickly jumped to Twitter, like many do when they need to issue a mass apology, and refuted all allegations of being a dissenter of the LGBT community.

Fetty Wap saves the day...
At two in the morning, a phone call was placed to this year's hottest rapper, Fetty Wap, asking him to step in for Chris Brown. Fetty Wap, who was conveniently close to the venue at the time, was happy to oblige.

“He said ‘hell yeah!’ I said it’s a gay party. It’s tons of people here. He said he didn’t care and was on his way,” said Scott.

So, Mr. Wap, thank you for stepping up and putting yourself out there as a positive example against discrimination in the world of rap music. And, to use your words:
