In a time when the grandiose is expected, where only the biggest, fastest, and most ridiculous compete for the restless attention of caffeine driven minds, Future Islands appeals to the everyday, the mundane, and the real with their music video for "Grease."

"Grease" is not the ostentatious life of the rich rock star. It's the long car ride before the show and the glazed stares at cell phones and out of windows. It's the secluded small talk at parties and the warm conversations with bartenders. It's the intimate concerts for a sparse crowd and the prosaic ending alone in a back room. It's the story unworthy of repeating.

The music video is so honest you wouldn't believe it took place on the other side of a camera lens. It's a refreshing look at the raw side of life that often gets washed out in the throngs of social media where the number of cyber thumbs-up dictate what's worth saying. To further the concept, the entire video is shot in black and white, ignoring bright and flashy expectations.

Remember what it was like to revel in the mundane; check out the video.
