Pixelord's Keramika is set for digital release February 20 and its title track offers an exciting first look into his latest work.
Moscow's own Alexey Devyanin is the truly eccentric beat maker known as Pixelord. His style is consistently unapologetic and unique, experimenting with different sounds and beats, molding them in offbeat ways. The title track off of his soon-to-be released EP is no exception to the Pixelord rule. The song opens with mellow, watery sounds giving the listener a feeling of serenity from the start. The track develops from there, becoming more intricate and intense. As the beats change, it feels as though you've mistakenly skipped to the next track because there's no obvious fusing of the different sounds into a clearly flowing melody. Although unnerving at times, it's impossible to get bored with the track because a fresh sound is right around the corner - and each shift in music is as interesting as it is surprising, and you can't help but listen closely to what might be coming next.
