One of Sydney's younger talents, Hugh Luscombe (aka Nakagin), offers us his newest track "Woods + Rest."
Barely out of his teens, Nakagin has already made quite a name for himself as a talented producer of electronic/synth/hip-hop inspired music. With the release of a free EP in 2011, he has been busy back at work producing a new wave of music for his fans. His newest release "Woods + Rest" is an interesting combination of beats and sounds. The track opens with noises and voices that appear to be in competition with each other - giving the listener the feel of a busy, overcrowded city street. While it takes Nakagin a few minutes to settle down into the calmness that is the last portion of the song, it ends up being worth the wait. There is a distinct shift in the tone of the track, allowing for the last minute to really shine, leaving the listener with no choice but to go back and listen again. If this track is any indication, we should have plenty to look forward to from Nakagin in the upcoming year.
